WHO WE ARE

We are a movement of young people fasting, praying, evangelizing, and raising funds to provide a permanent solution to self sustainability in world slums.

The organization is currently based in Evans, Colorado serving Nairobi, Kenya impacting lives in Mathare slums and with plans to extend its influence to other slums of the world. Mathare, just like any other slum is a hopeless place to live in. It is highly overpopulated and has high rates of drug abuse and crime.

Families averaging of five people live in a ten foot squared single room. This room serves as a kitchen, bedroom, dining room and even business premises for a family; therefore, there's no ample space for studying. Due to the level of poverty in the slums, school going children struggle with studies because they are in and out of school, since they lack school fees and educational materials.

Conditions of the slums promote young girls to engage in prostitution and early marriages resulting in single parenthood and high spread of sexually transmitted diseases. Young men also end up in crime as a means to support their families when their gifts and talents fail to work out for them. Me 4 My Neighbor strives to bring hope and to set a good example.

WHAT WE DO

We start by skipping one meal a week and spend that money on food supplies for select families in the slums of Kenya in our bimonthly outreach visits, as we share the love of Jesus Christ.

We are focused on highlighting and addressing the plight of slum dwellers who are vulnerable to illiteracy, drug abuse, prostitution, poverty and crime and strive to bring hope to the slums. At the core of everything we do and hope to do, is the desire to be hands and feet for Jesus and carry out the greatest command to love our neighbors as ourselves.

OUR MISSION

To establish hope in the hearts and change the lives of people all over the slums of the world through the love of Jesus Christ.

OUR OBJECTIVE

The ministry’s main objective is to INITIATE, FACILITATE & MANAGE programs that support in basic education, self-help projects to the people and empower them to be self-reliant by TRAINING, MENTORING & PROVIDING PLATFORM to convert their skills into income generating in promotion of the gospel of Jesus.

STATEMENT OF FAITH

We believe the Bible to be the only inspired, trustworthy and true, without error, Word of God. (2 Timothy 3:16-17)

We believe there is only one God who eternally exists in three persons: Father, Son and Holy Spirit. (Matthew 28:19)

We believe Jesus Christ is God, in His virgin birth, in His sinless life, in His miracles, in His death that paid for our sin through His shed blood, in His bodily resurrection, in His ascension/rising up to the right hand of the Father and in His personal return in power and glory. (John 1:1; Matthew 1:18,25; Hebrews 4:15; Hebrews 9:15-22; 1 Corinthians 15:1-8; Acts 1:9-11; Hebrews 9:27-28)

We believe that acceptance of Jesus Christ and the corresponding renewal of the Holy Spirit are the only paths to salvation for lost/sinful men and women. (John 3:16; John 5:24; Titus 3:3-7)
Salvation comes through faith in Jesus and only through faith in Jesus. No one can earn or deserve salvation, but God offers it freely to all who would call on Jesus. The moment a person places their faith and trust in Jesus is when that person becomes born again. All of their sins are washed away, and they can begin a relationship with the living God. Ephesians 2:8-9, Galatians 2:16, Titus 3:5
We believe in the present ministry of the Holy Spirit, who lives within and guides Christians so they are enabled to live godly lives. (John 14:15-26; John 16:5-16; Ephesians 1:13-14)
We believe in eternal life, and that through belief in Jesus Christ as the Son of God, we spend eternity with the Lord in Heaven. We believe that in rejecting Jesus Christ as Lord and Savior, we receive eternal suffering in hell. (Matthew 25:31-46; 1 Thessalonians 4:13-18)

We believe in the spiritual unity of believers in our Lord Jesus Christ, that all believers are members of His body, the Church. (Philippians 2:1-4)

We believe that human life is sacred from conception to its natural end; that we must honor the physical and spiritual needs of all people; following Christ’s example, we believe that every person should be treated with love and respect.

We believe that people are created to exist forever. When we die, we will either exist eternally separated from God because of sin or in union with God through salvation that comes through faith in Jesus. Heaven and hell are literal places. Ecclesiastes 3:11, John 17:24, Revelation 20:10,15 (Psalm 139:13; Isaiah 49:1; Jeremiah 1:5; Matthew 22:37-39; Romans 12:20-21; Galatians 6:10)

We believe that the church is the body of Christ on earth, empowered by the Holy Spirit to continue the task of reaching the lost and discipling the saved, helping them become fully devoted followers of Christ. Ephesians 4:1-16
